An eight-sided magnetic snap face

Published 14 and 18 mm references require a current octagonal drawing to identify how the size is measured. Confirm the body thickness, prong layout, component metals and magnet option for the selected version. Use the octagonal component drawing to identify the exact version.

Lay out the snap so the intended edge orientation aligns with the bag pattern. Install with matched backing components and check the corners for clearance from seams. Review the complete closed pair, including whether the two outlines appear aligned after the lining is fitted.

Selecting the complete specification

Choose the mating halves, backing components and attachment dimensions as a set. State the finished material thickness, including lining and reinforcement, and identify the visible finish required for each side.

Confirm the component materials and magnet option on the selected drawing and quotation. Similar-looking variants can differ in body depth or attachment geometry. Send authorized artwork if a custom mark is needed, and approve its position on a sample before ordering.

Quality checks and sampling

Inspect the complete installed sample for alignment, loose movement, finish damage and interference with the lining. Open and close it in the direction used by the finished product. If retention is a specified requirement, agree the measurement method and acceptance criteria for that assembly.

Keep the approved component set, drawing and fitted sample as the ordering reference. Confirm quantity, packing, sampling steps and production timing with Richarms for the selected version. A new material stack or different mating part needs a fresh compatibility check.

Questions about octagon magnetic bag snaps

Is this an octagon or a hexagon?

The illustrated product has eight sides and is described here as an octagon. Confirm the approved drawing with the order.

Should I measure across the flats or corners?

State which measurement is required and show it on the drawing. The two dimensions are not interchangeable.

Can this be mixed with another manufacturer's mating part?

Do not assume interchangeability. Compare the complete geometry and test the selected pair before specifying it.

What do you need to recommend a size?

Send the application, available mounting area, full material-stack thickness, attachment method, finish requirement and expected quantity.

Compare related options

Compare thin square magnetic snaps, heart shape magnetic snaps, round magnetic snaps for bags when reviewing a different structure or installation route.

Send the product reference, application photographs or drawing, required finish and planned quantity through our product inquiry page. Include the matching-part or material details so we can review the correct version and confirm the next sampling step.

Octagon magnetic bag snaps have an eight-sided face for bags and small leather goods that need a geometric alternative to round closures.
