The RC-HC1420 and RC-HC1820 references describe 14 and 18 mm families with a 2 mm female-part thickness. Confirm the exact partial-rim version because the amount and orientation of coverage can vary.
A partial rim for a defined closing orientation
Mark the rim orientation on the bag pattern and compare it with the direction in which the flap moves. The rim can guide contact, but it should not be advertised as an anti-theft feature or as a guarantee against accidental opening.
Install the prongs with the matched backing washers and test the complete material stack. Check the closed alignment from the side, then open the flap in its normal direction. If the rim catches or the material twists, review placement before changing magnet strength or applying more force.
Choosing size and rim orientation
Choose the mating halves, backing components and attachment dimensions as a set. State the finished material thickness, including lining and reinforcement, and identify the visible finish required for each side.
Confirm the component materials and magnet option on the selected drawing and quotation. Similar-looking variants can differ in body depth or attachment geometry. Send authorized artwork if a custom mark is needed, and approve its position on a sample before ordering.
