Shower curtain magnets keep a shower curtain where it should be: against the wall instead of drifting inward, and hanging straight instead of clinging to the body. Because they live in a humid bathroom, buyers also want to know they will last. This guide covers the two main types of shower curtain magnets, where to place them, and what to check before ordering.

Shower curtain magnets holding the curtain edge against the wall

Two problems, two types of shower curtain magnets

  • The edge moves away from the wall. Water and light can get past the side of the curtain. A closure magnet on the curtain edge and a metal plate on the wall hold the edge in place.
  • The curtain blows inward or clings. Air movement in the shower pushes a light curtain toward the body. Magnetic weights on the hem keep the curtain hanging down.

Edge closures: single magnet with a metal plate

Nosso removable push-pin curtain magnets are made in a single-magnet version with a metal plate for this job. The magnet is fixed to the curtain edge with its pin, and the plate is placed on the wall or frame where the edge should rest. When the curtain is drawn, the magnet holds to the plate.

  • Sizes: 17 mm, 20 mm and 25 mm.
  • Long or short pin, depending on the curtain material.
  • No sewing and no drilling; the magnet pulls off for cleaning or washing the curtain.

For curtains that should not be pierced, clip-on curtain magnets grip the edge instead.

Hem weights: magnetic curtain weights

Nosso magnetic curtain weights are pairs that clamp the hem from both sides. Space them evenly along the bottom of the curtain. Add more if the curtain still moves.

Materials and humid bathrooms

Bathrooms are wet and warm, so hardware has to cope with daily moisture. Our push-pin and clip-on curtain magnets are intended for long-term use in bathrooms. To keep them in good condition:

  • Wipe them dry from time to time, especially if they are splashed directly.
  • Remove them before washing the curtain in a machine.
  • Check the metal plate’s position after cleaning the wall.

If you are a brand or wholesaler and need to make specific claims about corrosion resistance on your packaging, ask us which tests and documents are available for the exact item you are ordering.

Placement checklist

  1. Hang the curtain and close it the way it will normally be used.
  2. Mark where the curtain edge meets the wall or frame. Fix the magnet on the curtain and the plate on the wall at the same height.
  3. For tall curtains, use two or more edge magnets along the side.
  4. Add weights along the hem, evenly spaced.
  5. Open and close the curtain several times and adjust positions if needed.

For hotels, landlords and bathroom-accessory brands

Removable magnets make shower curtain changes faster, because the hardware comes off and goes back on without tools. For volume orders, tell us the curtain type, the number of rooms or units, and whether you need retail packaging or bulk packing. Standard items in standard finishes have no minimum order; custom packaging and logos are quoted per project.

Frequently asked questions

Do shower curtain magnets need drilling?

No. The magnet attaches to the curtain with a pin or clip, and the metal plate sits on the wall.

Can shower curtain magnets go in the washing machine?

No. Remove them before washing the curtain and refit them afterwards.

Should I use edge magnets or weights?

Use edge magnets if water or light gets past the side. Use weights if the curtain blows inward. Many showers benefit from both.
