Rectangular ferrite blocks for flat mounting spaces

Specify length, width and thickness and mark the magnetization direction relative to those dimensions. Include any edge-clearance requirement and explain how the block will be retained. Avoid relying on a tight pocket that loads a brittle edge during installation.

For multiple magnets in one assembly, show their spacing and required polarity relationship. Sample checks should cover size, visible chips and the finished assembly's magnetic behavior. Keep the approved drawing with the sample so a rectangular part cannot be confused with a similar-looking variant.

Drawing-led specification and customization

Send a drawing with dimensions, tolerances, magnetization direction and the required quantity. Describe the working gap, mating material, mounting method and environment. These inputs help distinguish a suitable magnetic component from a part that merely fits the space.

Confirm the material grade and any surface treatment on the quotation. Do not infer a temperature rating, pull force or coating performance from the photograph. Where a measured requirement matters, agree the test arrangement and acceptance criteria before sample approval.

Handling and sample validation

Protect magnets from impact and from uncontrolled contact with other magnets or metal parts. Support brittle edges during assembly, keep loose pieces away from children and use appropriate precautions around magnet-sensitive equipment.

The sample review should cover dimensions, pole orientation, visible damage and function in the intended assembly. Record the approved specification and test setup so later comparisons use the same gap, mating material and orientation. Ask Richarms to confirm drawing feasibility and the sample process before scheduling production.

Questions about custom ferrite block magnets

Which side is the magnetic pole face?

That depends on the specified magnetization direction. Mark it on the drawing instead of inferring it from the longest side.

Can I substitute this for a ferrite ring?

Only after redesigning and testing the assembly. A block does not provide the central clearance or field geometry of a ring.

Can a photograph establish magnetic strength?

No. A meaningful strength requirement needs a defined measurement method, geometry and operating gap.

What is needed before a custom quotation?

Provide the dimensioned drawing, grade or functional requirement, magnetization direction, mounting environment and order quantity.
