Custom ferrite ring magnets are ceramic magnetic components with a central hole. They suit assemblies that need a ring-shaped magnetic element and have defined space around a shaft, boss or other central feature.

The bore is as important as the outside diameter. Share the complete mating geometry so the magnet can be reviewed as part of the assembly rather than selected only by its outer size.

Ferrite rings specified around the center bore

Specify outer diameter, inner diameter and thickness, together with the required magnetization direction. If the component works across an air gap, include that gap and the opposing material in the application drawing.

Ferrite is brittle. Plan a support arrangement that avoids forcing the ring over an oversized boss or tightening a fastener directly against an unsupported edge. During sampling, check bore clearance, face flatness and the installation sequence. A dimensional fit alone does not establish the required magnetic performance.

Confirm the material grade and any surface treatment on the quotation. Do not infer a temperature rating, pull force or coating performance from the photograph. Where a measured requirement matters, agree the test arrangement and acceptance criteria before sample approval.

Protect magnets from impact and from uncontrolled contact with other magnets or metal parts. Support brittle edges during assembly, keep loose pieces away from children and use appropriate precautions around magnet-sensitive equipment.

The sample review should cover dimensions, pole orientation, visible damage and function in the intended assembly. Record the approved specification and test setup so later comparisons use the same gap, mating material and orientation. Does a center hole imply radial magnetization?

No. Ring geometry and magnetization direction are separate specifications. Identify the required pole arrangement.

Do not assume a press fit is suitable for a brittle ceramic ring. Review the retention method and clearances before assembly.

Can a photograph establish magnetic strength?

No. A meaningful strength requirement needs a defined measurement method, geometry and operating gap.
